Well, it has been a long week for us! I found this week to be a slow week at Publix, but despite that, I certainly seemed to have bought a lot! I used one $5.00 off $30.00 Publix coupon, one Free $10.00 Target Gift Card when you spend $50+ AND a $10.00 off $100.00 American Express Gift Card when you buy $25.00+ in groceries. SO, I had to spend $105.00 worth of groceries before coupons which was a very difficult feat this week. Fortunately, I still had six $5.00 off Bengay coupons and the Bengay was on sale for $5.99. So, I was able to add $35.94 worth of groceries just by getting the Bengay. (And, I will put it to good use as I’m sidelined with an injury right now. That is another story though. sigh.) I’m still loving the zucchini and squash sales! And, I meant to buy a cantaloupe but forgot (it is on sale 2/$4.00 which is a great price). **I didn’t include the AMEX gift card in my final totals since I look at it basically as a gift card to put towards future grocery shopping trips 🙂 The AMEX deal really isn’t that good when you factor in the activation fee.
How did you do this week shopping? I hope you were able to spend less and save more than I did! Please leave a comment letting everyone know how you did!

Wow, I totally didn’t think about using the $10 free gift card Target Coupon at Publix! Good thinking. Too bad it expires tomorrow.

We live in the same area, and I would LOVE to know if you shop at the Mitchell Ranch store. I had no idea that Publix would honor the 10 gift card deal from Target. I will for sure take advantage of that deal!
Thanks!
Addicted to Saving says
Hi Kendra! Just make sure to ask customer service first! I did and they said they had no problem accepting the coupon 🙂
Shanda says
Does Publix sell Target gift cards? Is that how you were able to use the coupon?
Addicted to Saving says
Hi Shanda! Nope – Publix let me use the coupon and gave me a $10 Publix gift card. I recommend you ask your store’s customer service to see if how they will handle the Target coupon! Good luck!

Can someone please tell me where I can find the Target coupon…I went to Publix yesterday and did 2 $50 transactions but I have not seen or heard anything about this $10 target coupon… I could really use that…
Thanks Kristy

Never mind ladies I found it. Now I just hope my Publix will honor it..

Total bill $162.51, I saved $91.76 and was only out of pocket $70.75 (56.4%). Yippee !! Question for you all, the cashier at my Publix told me today that they will only accept ONE target coupon per total transaction. This was the first time I ever used Target coupons at Publix and was too busy to follow up with manager, have any of you ever heard of this rule?
Kendra says
Publix will accept one Publix total transaction coupon, and one competitor total transaction coupon as long as you total is equal to or more than the combined totals indicated on the coupons. For example $5/50 Publix and $5/30 Target would require you to have a total of $80 or higher. In terms of Target coupons in general ($1 off Tide, .50 off Betty Crocker, etc…) I have been able to use as many as I want, with the exception of using two of the same store coupons, as they state “one per transaction.” Additionally I have always been able to stack Target coupons with man. coupons. I hope this answers your question. Don’t forget you can always go back to the customer service desk with your receipt and they will typically honor your coupons by giving you cash. Make sure you are able to show them where only one Target coupon was accepted and possibly what it was for, as my Publix has had incidents of people using coupons at the register and then trying to come back in and claim they did not get to use them and then get money back; in other words doubling-up on coupons and STEALING! I have never had an issue with not having a coupon honored at the customer service desk, but I have always been honest! Good luck!!!

Hi Laura! Great job today! This is a new policy to me.. That said, I do know that if a Target coupon states, “limit one coupon per customer” or “limit one coupon per transaction” then Publix really shouldn’t let us use more than one of said coupon.
Beyond that, if you have two $5/$30 Target coupons, then per Publix’s policy, you should only be able to use one $x/$xx Target coupon AND one $x/$xx Publix coupon in one transaction. Regardless of the verbiage. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any further questions!

Thanks for all the advice on the Targets coupons, but what I was talking about was a $1.50/3 coupon on Ore Ida Potatoes and the $5 off coupon on the TGIF’s food, those were the two coupons they wouldn’t accept at one time. I had them void the Ore Ida and used the $5 TGIF’s since that was a better deal because they were BOGO..have you ever heard of them not accepting more than one coupon from Target when it was for different food products?….and great job everyone on your savings, with women like us it kinda makes you feel sorry for the grocery stores profit margin…..um, on second thought, not really (smiles)

Annabella says
Thanks Carrie, I’m going again today and will check again… Just called my Publix and they do honor the $10/$50 Target coupons so I have to go today before it expires… 🙂

I HAVE A QUESTION HOW DID U GET THE 5 DOLLARS OFF 30???
Roseanne says
I went to my local Publix that accepts Target coupons. Tried to use the coupon for the gift card if you spend over $50. They would not do it. That is the Publix on Cortez in Bradenton.

Liza-
I always see that you buy a lot of zucchini and summer squash. What are some recipes you use for those?
