**Today’s shopping trip coincides with this week’s Publix 3/18/10 – 3/24/10 sale cycle. To see this week’s Publix sales and coupon matchups, go Here! Today, my great friend Kara and I hit up Target and Publix together. We had a blast. There are some awesome sales right now and let me tell you, we both took FULL advantage of them. If you are new to couponing, there are some great deals at Publix this week that you should be able to participate in as well! I spent a total of $2.68 (including tax – it was $0.93 before tax) on everything in the picture above. One of the luxuries of stockpiling is that you can shop the sales each week knowing that you don’t really NEED anything. I have a full pantry so every week I focus on all of the really good deals to add to my stockpile. If you are new to my website, I should tell you I post weekly Photo Show and Tells to inspire you and also show you exactly what you need to do to save money. Below I will give you the exact coupon matchups I used so that you can save big too!

I am a fan of anyone who is trying to stretch their money. But may I make one observation? I’ve found it very difficult to find some of the in-store savings booklets because they go so quickly. When I speak to the store mgrs they tell me they can’t stop people from taking handfuls of them. I notice you refer to 6 store cpns on the Fast Fixins. Perhaps we could all think about the folks coming in after us when we grab multiple flyers? Some people have to make a trip to get to the stores, some others might have time restraints that prevent them from going in frequently enough to catch flyers when they go out on the first day. Thanks for considering…..

Hi Karen – Very good points. I agree with you that sometimes it is very tough to save b/c the store booklets go quickly. I especially get frustrated when my store doesn’t have certain booklets at all, ever. I will say that I take only two or four coupon booklets at one time. Then, if I go in another time and there is still a stack, I will take another two. (My magic # is 6 so I try for a total of 6) If the pile is dwindling or low, I won’t take four. I agree – everyone should have a chance at the deals – we are definitely on the same page. I will also say – however – my Publix had a full stack of booklets with the Fast Fixins coupons just this past Thursday. So, the stack has been there for over 3 weeks since the booklets appeared. I am not one of the people that take a handful (unless you consider 2 or a maximum of 4 a handful). Thank you for your feeling comfortable enought to share your thoughts. I do see where you are coming from. Keep the input coming 🙂

I heard a rumor that publix takes expired coupons. Is that true?
Liza says
Hi Amy – To my knowledge, there are very very few Publix stores that take expired coupons. None of my stores do. I do, however, know that US army bases located overseas take expired coupons. I have a huge pile of expireds to send overseas.
