I can not believe how time is flying! My husband and I had an afternoon Publix date today and I realized that I haven’t been to Publix in two weeks since last weekend I was in Nashville! We had a great time in Nashville learning about blogging, meeting other bloggers and meeting Joe Jonas and Rascal Flatts. This week took a bit of time getting into the swing of things as we have been battling exhaustion and colds. But we are on the mend and I’m thankful for that!
Today’s Publix shopping trip wasn’t the most amazing in the world. I was focusing on a lot of “healthier” options today so we spent a little more then I would have liked. But, it is worth it. Would rather save just 50% and get all healthy food versus save 100% and get all junk. (Don’t get me wrong – I like my junk food – I’m just trying to focus on having a primarily healthy diet.) I actually contemplated going on a cleanse this week. Not so much as to lose weight as to get rid of the toxins in my system and to lose some of my cravings for junk food. Have any of you done that before? Would love to hear your thoughts as well as the type of cleanse you did.
Also – as a note for the items I purchased below, I was able to use the $0.50/1 Maggi Soup Mix coupon to score FREE soup mix. The verbiage on the coupon is extremely confusing so I can not promise your store will honor it the way mine did.

You should try the Advocare 24 Day challenge! Or just the 10 day cleanse part. I did this in December and it worked out really well for me. I lost 12 lbs, but I wasn’t as strict as I could have been with my diet and did not exercise. (I mean come on I spent a week at Disney during my challenge. 😉 ) The cleanse really “reset” my system and it wasn’t a harsh cleanse at all. I had the desire again for the healthy food and did not miss sugar or refined flour much at all. I did not stick with it, but that’s entirely my fault too. Anyway, I made a blog about my challenge, I’ll put a link if you like. Delete it if you need to, but if you want more info, feel free to email me. http://www.myadvocare24daychallenge.blogspot.com

So glad I saw the spot shot in your pic.. I have been needing some badly and hated the price (even with a $1 coupon) but bogo with 2 $1 coupons is totally doable!!!

I have done a cleanse before where I bought stuff that was supposed to work wonders and I can’t say that it gave me all sorts of extra energy or made me feel super wonderful. It did help my husbands skin clear up (he was getting bumps on his arms and legs) so obviously it did help in some ways.
I’ve found that drinking lots of water and eating really healthy and maybe some extra fiber in our diet will usually produce the same effect.

No yellow publix flyer coupon for voskos yogurt used?

Awesome Job! I was so proud of my Publix trip I posted pics on Facebook. I had Publix yelow flyer coupons for the 6 Voskos Greek Yogurt on sale 10/$10. I’m pretty sure they were the same as the manufacture coupons, $1 off 3. Also used a coupon for $.50 off any Mrs Paul’s fish from the Albertson’s Monopoly games. Thanks for all you post! You’re amazing!

I recently read a book by Cynthia Sass called Cinch. I got it from the library read it and decided it was totally for me. The diet is so balanced that you do not crave junk food. I was truly amazed at how easy it was to say no to cookies as I watched my kids eat them. I started the new “diet” in September last year and I have lost over 12 pounds (10 in the first 6 weeks). I use the term diet loosely because this is something I will follow for the rest of my life it is that easy. She has a jump start option but if you run I would not suggest it because it is very low in carbs. I run and bike a lot so I did make some tweaks since I need additional calories but it has worked great. I am still losing but at a rate of a pound every 6 weeks:-) She has a FB page, she is a professor at USF. Check it out.
