So, this week’s Photo Show and Tell should hopefully answer the plethera of emails I receive regarding whether or not I buy and eat fresh meat. The answer is a wholehearted YES!! I am not totally thrilled with this week’s Publix Weekly Ad BUT having chicken on sale for $1.99/lb made me very very happy. I only buy chicken breasts when they are priced at $1.99/lb or less. I will trim all of the chicken I bought today and separate them into one pound portions. I will then put them in Ziploc freezer bags, freeze them and use as needed. I bought 13.4 lbs of boneless chicken breasts and this should last us a while. The nice thing about my shopping trip this week – I was able to get everything in the picture for less than the cost of the 13.4 lbs of chicken 🙂 So, I spent a total of $25.54 and saved $100.94.
The items I purchased today coincide with this week’s Publix Weekly ad. To see this week’s ad & coupon matchups, go HERE.

also $1.00 on any 1 oscar mayer deli creations cracker combinations. (it’s a Publix coupon) should work with this weeks sale 10 for $10.00
susan says
the deli creations are not part of the sale(just got back from a quick trip to publix) however, they are 2/$5. some boxes had peelies save $1.00/2. if you use the peelie and 2 publix printed $1.00 coupons should make them 2/$2 or $1.00 each. right Liza?
Liza says
Hi Susan! Good find on the $1/2 deli creations peelies. You are correct! When you stack the $1/2 manufacturer and the two $1/1 store coupons, you are spending $1.00 each!
Liza says
Susan – I just found a $1.00/1 Deli Creations manufacturer printable. You can print this out twice. If you use two $1/1 manufacturer and two $1/1 store, you will spend only $0.50 each! Go HERE for the printable

How many newspapers do you buy a week?? My husband thinks I’m crazy for wanting to buy more than 1 per week. I see above you had 7 coupons for the lunchables. Just curious.
Liza says
Hi Chrystal! I buy 6 papers every week. If it’s an outstanding week, I may up it to 8. But, on average, I buy 6. I always supercede the cost of the papers by using up a lot of the coupons in them. So, while I do have to pay for more than one paper every Sunday, it’s always worth it. I think you should start with buying at least two newspapers. If you live in Florida, chances are that when there is a B1G1 sale, you will need to buy two items (other areas often have each item for 50% off). If there is a B1G1 sale, you should use two coupons on the two items you are buying! Also – read my post on Stockpiling HERE. This is good to read b/c it reinforces that fact that when there are good deals, you should buy more than one of that item so that you don’t have to pay full price on that item ever again! And, in order to buy more than one of that item, you will need more than one coupon – hence the concept of buying more Sunday papers! 🙂

Do you find that you get better value coupons from Sundays papers or from the internet printables? I have been couponing since February and I am trying to come up with a routine. I live in SC and the Sunday paper here is $2. My husband says I am counter acting the savings by buying more than one paper. I am trying to prove him wrong. If I were to get 4 papers per week for 4 weeks in the month thats spending $32 a month. He says that I would come up even if I spent this money each month on the actual groceries. He is also complaining about the ink. In 3 months I am on my 3rd cartridge. Ink cartridges are normally around $20 for B&W for my computer. He says between the ink and the papers I’m not saving anything. Of course he is enjoying the bags of free groceries but he is questioning in the end are we really saving money! I dont have any friends that are into couponing so please help!!

Hi; I’m relatively new to couponing, so I have lots of questions. For example, what happens to the overages? I see you applied the 55-cent Sunchips coupons even though they were already free with the Facebook coupons. Does Publix take the overage off your total? Thanks, Diane
