I had a great day at Publix today! (Really – when do I not? I love Publix!) I had quite a few free coupons that expired after today so I went today instead of tomorrow/Friday. I came across a few great peelies that scored me great deals. And I was able to really maximize my Target store coupons. Remember that not all Publix locations accept Target coupons so make sure you find out before you start shopping. I think I had a coupon for everything except the eggs, Bush’s Baked Beans and Eagle Condensed Milk. My poor cashier! She was awesome though and she knows all about my website and she coupons but yet never visits meon Addicted to Saving! So, I’m hoping she will join in on the madness along with all of us! 🙂 Oh – and if you are noticing a lack of produce, I received my delivery from the Organic Produce Groupon deal I posted about HERE. So, with the delivery and the peppers from my garden plus the fact that my hubby and I will be away for a few days, I really didn’t need any produce at all.
**I also did the awesome $10.00 off $50.00 Gas Card deal. I didn’t include that in my total below since that will fall under my gas budget, not grocery budget.
The items I purchased today coincide with this week’s Publix Weekly ad. To see this week’s ad & coupon matchups, go HERE.

Jackie says
Hi, were you able to use both the Publix AND Wnn Dixie $5 off coupons at the same time?
KMartin says
I also did good yesterday, probably my best so far! I spent $43.10 OOP and the total b4 coupons was $126.45. I could have done better, had the shelves not already been wiped LOL!! I even did it on the first day of the new sales.
I just love that feeling walking to the car with ALL those groceries!!
Melody says
I had a good day today too, although I wanted to leave a comment about a little issue. I have totally bought in to the buying what you need for 6 to 8 weeks idea and I do that. Today though, when I arrived at Publix at 11:30 a.m., somebody had gone through Publix and cleared the shelves of many of the good deals. Publix does a great job of stocking their store too. Really, does anyone need to buy 20 boxes of the Finish gel-pacs? Leave some for the rest of us, please??
carla says
I totally agree, its not about hoarding , its about all of getting a great deal.
Kelly says
Be sure to ask the stock clerk to check the back for more or have them order it for you. They are great about that. They will even order things they don’t carry. If your coupon is going to expire before they can get it you can prepay for it. One of the many reasons I love Publix.
Lisa says
It irritates me that I have to go to the extra trouble and time to have them check stock, etc. because some hoarder has gotten to the store before me. Why doesn’t the hoarder pre-order and leave the stuff on the shelves for those if us who are buying a normal amount of product?
Heather says
I had a great day at Publix as well! The best deal I found was the Pedigree dog food. All total, I spent $44.39. My total savings was $160.01. I also bought 4 gas cards since my total before coupons exceeded $100. So if you count the coupons for the gas cards, I actually saved $201.01! My best trip ever!!!
Nicole says
Thank you Melody for saying just what I have been thinking. I work 8-6 during the week and have to make special trips after work to even attempt to get some of the deals. However, since that “wonderful” show on TLC. I often find the shelves empty of what I need. Tends to be very frustrating.
Also, where did you find the free Silk coupon? My son is allergic to milk to we go through alot!
Thanks for all you do.
Lisa says
The 5/15 RP coupon for Sundown vitamins expired 6/28/11; in my RP’s at least.

Question about the GAS deal. I just want to clarify the “fine print”. The $25 “grocery” purchase is anything not listed in the exclusions (prescriptions, alcohol, tobacco, etc.), would that also include non-food items? Also, is this $25 total taken pre-coupons? Should I hand the Gas Card over after all other items with the Gas Card coupon, and then my remaining coupons? Am I making too big a deal out of this? haha =)
Heather says
About the gas card question, I asked my store’s manager and was told that you can use one coupon for every $25 you spend, doesn’t matter if it is food or non-food. I didn’t even have to do separate transactions. My pre-coupon total exceeded $100, so I purchased 4 gas cards. I gave them the gas card coupons first and then all of my other coupons. My total OOP after coupons was $244, and that includes the $200 for 4 gas cards. I would just ask at your store before you start shopping to be certain.

Thanks for the heads up on the Caribou Coffee deal. I totally missed that and ran out for a couple of bags this morning. My family adores hummus so the Sabra deal this week has been awesome for us!

Kim says
My Publix had 55 cent off stickies on the M&Ms, so I combined that with the dollar off coupon from one of the inserts. Also, mine had the unadvertised BOGO Feta deal A2S wrote about, so I combined that with the $3 off printable you directed us to! Thanks! BTW, the Feta at our store was flavored – Mediterranean Herb or Tomato & Basil; they were either out of plain or it was somewhere else not on sale. Also, A1 was on BOGO and I had a $1 off insert coupon for it. Sorry, I still cut my coupons out (the horror!) so I don’t know what inserts these came out from.
carmen says
the aunt jemima coupon will print two per computer. you just have to watch the video twice and enter alternate information the second time…
I DO NOT feel bad about doing this, since I buy for several people. 🙂
bessymae says
Just be careful with the unadvertised cheese on bogo. I got 4 Rondele which said on the shelves BOGO, but then at checkout it rang as regular full price for each. That is a great deal by the way, I use two of the President $3 coupons, they come out to $.84 each!
I did awesome this week, the manager (who ws assisting the cashier who was new at the job) let me buy 3 gas cards together on the same transaction and since my total was around $200 with the cards, she also let me use two $10 off $100 coupons from Doris (an italian market) that is on their list of competitors. I get these coupons in the Doris advertising weekly ad that comes with coupons insert on Sunday and also in the mail, it is a one page ad. So at the end I only paid $5 for my groceries which was worth $85 before all stores and vendors coupons and I got $ 150 worth of gas for $120, not too shabby!
Thank you Lisa for all the matchups and hard work you do, you are a true blessing.
