I had a great day at Publix today. I wasn’t totally overwhelmed with happiness over this week’s sales ad and yet looking at the picture above, I see that I actually did a pretty good job. I did make one fatal error. Well, truthfully, I almost made two, but I caught the first error while shopping (I almost bought two Cole’s garlic bread with only one store and one manufacturer coupon – when I realized I needed two manufacturer coupons I put the garlic bread back. :)) The second error, however, was a pretty big one. If you look at my picture above, you may be able to see that above the Jimmy Dean sausage is three Old Orchard frozen juice containers (they have green lids). On the right of those three containers, you may notice a Welch’s frozen juice container with the yellow lid. What did this error mean? This error meant that I paid for two Old Orchard juice and only got one free AND I paid in full for a Welch’s juice. UGH. Not a big deal in the scheme of life and not a big enough error for me to trek back to Publix. Lesson learned that I have to really look at each and every item I put in my grocery cart. My fatal flaw cost me an extra $2.19. When all is said and done, I’m pretty pleased with my trip. I also went to Winn Dixie after Publix and bought some produce since they have good produce sales this week (go HERE and HERE to see their ad).
The items I purchased today coincide with this week’s Publix Weekly ad. To see this week’s ad & coupon matchups, go HERE.

How do you earn more points with Recycle Bank? Are you just using up old points since they no longer have an association with Kashless? Thanks! I just signed up and managed to order one $5 Winn-Dixie coupon but feel like I missed the boat for anything else.
Kim says
Me too! Can’t seem to earn more points!
Cindy says
I joined but dont see the $5 winn dixie coupon. CATHY, where did you find it. i looked under Food, Supermarkets but only Sams Club came up.
Cathy says
I found the coupon under grocery. It cost 50 points.
Kim says
I had a great time at Publix too, I spent 48.41 and saved 74.30. Bummed that we don’t have Winn Dixie in Chas,Sc.
Michelle says
For the jimmy Dean Sausage….Isn’t that two manufacturer’s coupons? (Still learning. 🙂
Liza says
Hi Michelle – In my scenario, I bought 4 Jimmy Dean sausage. I used two B1G1 coupons. The B1G1 coupons covered the two free sausage. So, I then had two sausage not covered by a coupon. I then used the $2/2 coupon which covered the two sausages I had to pay for. Does that make sense? This can be very confusing so let me know if you want me to explain differently! =)

Great day for me at Publix today!! Spent $2.82 and saved $94.04 so I’m a very happy camper! I used my overage for 1 lb. of Boars Head Salsalito Turkey Breast! Thanks for all the posts and help Liza!
Liza says
Yeah! Great job Cynthia! You saved more money than me this week! 🙂
Kelly says
What zipcode for the fruit bars? I don’t see it in my area and tried several other zip codes.
carmen says
34986 (just saw it on iheartpublix)
David W. says
Liza, you bought 4 vitamins
but only used 2 publix and 2 manufactures?
is the green advantage a manufacture?
also which vitamins did you get I can’t tell by the picture just looking for the right price match ups to copy you for the overage savings
thanks
David W. says
scratch that sorry read it again I see now I read it to fast.
but still interested in which vitamins you got…
carmen says
the cheapest ones. 🙂
Mark P. says
I would guess 3 bottles of vitamin A which are 3.29 and 1 vitamin D at 2.99 = 12.86
Liza says
Mark great job guessing! You are exactly correct 🙂
missy says
Liza have I ever told you how much I love your website and your show & tell pictures!!!!
I did my shopping yesterday (saved 70%) but had to go back today for the vitamin deal and see how much I could get for FREE. Some of the vitamins had $1.00 peelies…WOOHOO!!! I spent a total of .17 CENTS for 4 vitamins, 2 jimmy dean sausage, 2 poptarts, 2 ears of corn, 1 vinegar, 1 sabra hummus, 14 sprout baby food (will donate), mardi gras napkins and a dozen eggs!!! The girl behind me in line, the cashier and bagger were amazed!!!
Janice says
I had a good trip to Pulbix last night: $115.68 for $8.30.
Kris says
I saved $128 and only spent $98. Thank you for you website.
Michelle says
Ummm….
I went shopping today & they had to grab a 2nd manager to “approve” my $3/2 vitamins. I asked for them to adjust my last coupon down & she said, don’t worry about it & gave me $0.19 change. I’m still kind of giddy, though I never expect for that to happen again & tried to get them to fix it. I guess after my dealing with the issue of overage, they were kind of done with me. They were civil leaning towards nice about the coupon issue.
So, what % is it when they pay you to shop??? LOL
Last week, a tag was marked incorrectly (marked $2.79 but was actually $2.29 for a sale that was ending that night)& I literally had to buy the lady behind me’s banana to get to a positive amount! Her $.26 banana gave me a $.13 total for my order!
Thank you LIZA!!!!!
carmen says
Liza – in your defense, all the frozen juices look the same! I almost picked up the wrong one too tonight when I did my shopping.
Char says
Thank you. You helped save me some $ with the added links.
Much appreciated!
