Thanks for explaining how you purchase your produce and meat. I don’t buy meat every week and I do stock up on boneless chicken breast when I can get a good deal. I buy my produce at at produce stand. The quality is better and it’s cheaper than Publix. But, I will still spend on average $6-$8 there a week for fruit & veggies. My OOP is always much higher than yours, but I guess each family is different in their needs. I would LOVE for you to post a typical weekly menu sometime so we can get a feel for how you use the food you buy!

Liza – I bought the Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes and Waffles that are BOGO. When I got home and looked at my receipt…. I discovered I was charged full price for two boxes of waffles. I called my Publix store and they told me that the waffles are not BOGO. I could have sworn I saw a BOGO sign on the freezer though. Do you know if they are on sale?

Hi izziB – I always give my coupons up front before the cashier even starts ringing up my items so that they can review them. In fact, I talked to my cashier about the Fage deal and showed her the coupon. My cashier had no problem using the multiple coupons.

Hi Sara – your question made me giggle. I only bought 1 banana for two reasons a) my husband doesn’t eat them so I only get them for myself or for banana bread and b) I have a long run tomorrow and I like to eat a banana afterwards to help my recovery. I don’t eat them very often only after my long runs. And, since I’m not baking banana bread this week, I didn’t need more! Good question though – i can totally see how the one banana looks a bit odd all by itself! 🙂

That’s cool, but how did you use 6 $1/off Fage coupons?? It says you can only use one. My publix would NEVER let me do that!!

This was really good!!! It also proves that you can modify your deals to buy exactly what you need at a particular time ( like your purchase of the sponge ). I bought today some lunchables only because I found a coupon from Target and created a money maker of 50 cents each. I am not sure if the coupon is still available but wanted to mention it for all the other readers here.
Lisa, thanks very very much for sharing all your tips. It is amazing what you do for all of us and for the community. I personally am accumulating many goodies to send to the troops on 9-11 when my meetup group will be sending shoe boxes to the military troops.

Thanks Donna! I thought maybe I was loosing my mind tonight at the store. I had to double check my Stouffer’s coupons twice because I could have sworn the coupons were listed as $1.00/1. But I’ll take $2.00/1!!!!
