If you are thinking that I bought a lot today at Publix, you are 100% correct! I had quite the haul today! I wasn’t planning on buying quite this much – or should I say that as I printed my grocery list, I wasn’t picturing quite as much stuff as I ended up with! I got a ton of food. And, I spent a bit more than I probably would have liked. But, I had the $10.00 gift card I received a couple weeks ago so I knew that would help a little. And, we are going to have four house guests staying with us for a few weeks this month and I am desperately trying to make sure I have lots of food for them. I’ve told them that I expect them to eat all of my food and clean out my stockpile for me. 😉 We’ll see if that happens!
A few notes regarding my purchases.. First, the Eight O Clock coffee is a great deal – I would have bought even more (remember we go through coffee like it is water) but their coupons were not printing out for me. I received an email from them yesterday that they are having problems with their coupons so once their site is up and running again, I will buy even more. The second note for you is that you may be able to tell I bought 6 jars of Ragu Pizza Sauce. I may go back for more. There are no coupons for the sauce but as I told you in this week’s Publix weekly ad, it is on sale BOGO. It is very seldom on sale BOGO so I stocked up – especially since the expiration date is 2013. AND – thanks to many of you – I had my mom pick me up a box of Sam’s Club pizza dough!! Oh my gosh – what an amazing deal! So, I have plenty of dough just asking to be made! Lastly, my third note for you is that I bought 6 boxes of Chicken Hamburger Helper (or whatever the chicken mixes are called). I’m not sure if I will even like it, but as I said above, I will have a housefull soon. AND, I have at least 80 pounds of chicken that needs to be cooked. So, I figure that in a pinch, I’ll try the Chicken Helper. Have you guys tried it? Do you like it? I think that is it for my side notes! The chicken helper is one of the favorites in our house. I love it! The chedder and broccoli one, not sure if you got that one, is the best!

(now i know why customer service desk said some lady came in and grabbed all the yellow ads- very rude of that lady) – i wanted one to do combat and texas pete sauce deals that i figured out- and i couldn’t get either because she took them all, next month i will make sure i have 2 at my home of each ad so that this doesn’t happen again, and so jealous you had cole’s coupons and 1 off 4 green giant- cole’s coupons said they were out on tuesday and i only had .80 off 4….. 🙂 Have a great weekend
I found a coupon for FREE mueller’s pasta wyb 2 ragu pasta sauce! it’s somewhere in the 9/11 inserts. So that’s 1.50 for 2 jars of sauce and 1 box of pasta!
I think I had the same one, and I’m pretty sure expired today…… at least the one I had did.
I believe you are correct about that coupon expiring today. I used mine. 🙂

You did awesome! We have a lot of the same things on our lists. I wonder why the Sara Lee is showing up higher priced online than what you purchased. I crossed it off my list because I didn’t think it was a great deal, but you got a great deal! The coffee cake is showing $5.49 in red and says reduced price and I thought, that’s not a deal!
Growing up my mother made Hamburger Helper at least twice a week so I’m not a fan of it. But I did pick up two boxes of the Chicken Helper last sale and haven’t brought myself to make it. LOL. I swear I’m not a food snob, it’s just not appealing to me since I ate so much of it as a kid. I have the Creamy Chicken and Noodles. I guess we’ll both be trying something new!

Just an FYI. Publix throws away all store coupons. Therefore, when they are out of the green and yellow flyers ask to speak to a customer service manager to see if they will get you one out of the recyclable trash. My store did it for me yesterday.

On the Chicken Helper, the Creamy Chicken and Noodles is my favorite, but my Publix doesn’t carry it so I bought the Fettucine Alfredo (which is good) and Chicken Fried Rice (haven’t tried it yet). Also, wanted to let you know that Save-A-Lot has Grands Biscuits 10/$10… of course, now that we already bought some at Publix!!! LOL 😀
My basket was also a little fuller than normal as well. Publix had some great deals and I hit the 83% savings percentage today!

I didn’t know you could use a $5/$30 WD coupon AND a Publix $5/$30 in one transaction! Did I read that right? I figured it was one or the other? Could someone verify that for me?
Hi Michelle! Per the official Publix coupon policy, you can use a competitor $x/$xx and a Publix $x/$xx as long as your total dollar amount of the items you purchase coupons equals at least the total dollar amount of $x/$xx coupons.. In other words, since I had $60 worth of groceries (before coupons), I could use both coupons. To see the Publix coupon policy, feel free to read my post HERE
Great Job!! This week I did pretty good as well!! I was very proud of myself tonight!! I finally got a nice cashier so that helped!! I spent $24.75 and saved $93.32! So far that is the best BIG shopping trip for me!! Thank you for helping me along the way!!
I didnt do as well as I wanted to but… but I splurged a little this week… Publix trip… Spent $95.22 and Saved $130.15… only around 58% perfect but I helped out a good cause today with some extra canned goods for the elderly!!!!
Just an FYI, When i went to my publix i asked them if they had any more of the yellow advantage flyers and they told me they were all out. I told them the reason why i wanted one and the lady told me that they would still give me the coupon amount off for the store coupon because THEY were out of the ad and it was THEIR fault they were out. So in other words i didnt need to physically have the coupon with me to use it and that was per my customer service manager. So i say it doesnt hurt to ask if they will do that for you 🙂

As I’ve told you before, Liza, I’m NOT a good cook, so I was pleasantly surprised a while back when the Apron’s Chef (they are ‘chef’s’ in my book! Ha!ha!) was making/sampling a recipe even I could follow….and it used Chicken Helper as its base, which I had iny pantry from a previous BOGO sale…here is a link to the Creamy Chicken and Apples recipe that we tried (besides not being a good cook, I’m quite finick/picky, too, but this was quite tasty…our girls really liked this recipe, too!!)
