I had to go to Walgreens today – not for anything in particular – but because I wanted to take advantage of the Walgreen Friends and Family Discount that I posted about yesterday. Walgreens has some great deals this week so I went in with the goal of using my $10RRs (Register Rewards) and spending as little as possible on moneymakers or freebies. I did a pretty good job. The only thing missing from this picture is the one filler item I had to buy – Peanut Butter Whoppers. My husband went with me on my Walgreens trip and I let him get a box of Whoppers even though it caused me to spend a bit more than I wanted. Oh well – at least the Whoppers were tasty! 🙂 The best thing is that I was able to buy everything in one transaction!
Here’s the rundown and how to do what I did for today’s Publix stop:

I used your methods and bought: 1 pkg pull-ups, 1 pkg diapers, 2 containers of anti-bac wet-wipes (a necessary staple with 2 boys who like to eat bugs), 2 full-size Dove Body Wash for Men, 1 24 oz Oil of Olay Body Wash, a Venus Embrace Razor (it really does give a nice shave), 2 pkg Kotex liners, aluminum foil, 4 Valentine pencils and an activity pad for .88 after Register Rewards! Can you say “Happy Hubby?”!
Only down-side was that the happy, apple-cheeked “Everyone’s Dream Grandma” went on break just as it was my turn, and “Everyone’s Dreaded 2nd Grade Teacher” – you know – the one with the lemonsucking cheeks and the glasses on the end of the nose – was on deck. Uh Oh.
But everyone responds to smiles and nice words, and even though by the end of our transactions I know she was thinking, “Lady, step AWAY from the products!” she smiled at me and said I wasn’t so bad. nice. Can’t wait to see what they’ll give me tomorrow!

YEAH!!! Dee Dee I almost emailed you yesterday asking for an update. How awesome did you do on your first try? My gosh $0.88!! You did better than me yesterday! 🙂 Great job!

It gets better! I think I can use the FREE Olay toward my 15.00 Olay rebate, since I happened to purchase it on the first day of their campaign!

I’m going to use 3 P&G “buy a Venus razor and get Olay free,” coupons, combined with the $2/1 Venus coupon. Total spending: $9.00 for 3 razors and 3 full-size Olays, plus a $15.00 Olay rebate for buying 3 Olay products (FREE!)…$6.00 profit!

I tried this yesterday at my Walgreens – bought the Kotex with the 15% and it didn’t spit out the RR. The cashier called for help and was told it didn’t print because the total retail wasn’t $6 as printed in the ad. I was super disappointed. I just started couponing and have had a few instances like this that are very discouraging.

I looked through my coupons from the paper and the ad and made a list and my husband went and we saved $$, too which I never do, I just go and get what I need when I need it. We would have spent about $62.08 and we only spent $37.34. That was so cool! We also started making sure to return items that we don’t want/need instead of waiting forever to go back and then have to keep it and sell or donate it. Got back over $30 in returns from Christmas time.

Great job Cami!! Before you know it, you will go in Walgreens and spend only $2.00 on $62 worth of items!!

I don’t usually bring my hubby or kids along on coupon trips. They always seem to mess up my bottom line 🙂
