Happy New Year! This is the first time we’ve gone grocery shopping since before Christmas! (Well, actually, we went last week and bought some produce… but today was the first time we used coupons in year 2015!) I have to admit, it was a bummer knowing that there was no more $5.00 off $30.00 Winn-Dixie coupons to use. So I already know that my savings this year will not be as good as last year!
We had a wonderful Christmas! It was so fun to see everything through our two year old’s eyes. He really had a great time playing with family. And, he definitely learned how to open presents! đ We drove 17 hours (each way) to visit hubby’s family in St Louis. I am shocked to report that our two year old was an angel each way! He is a very busy toddler so I was really worried (if I’m honest – I was stressed) about how the car ride would go. I am pleased to report that it was awesome. The only downfall of our trip was that there were crazy germs in the house. Almost everyone came down with a stomach virus. I came down with it the worst. And I spent two days in the basement on a leaky air mattress just wishing I could be home. There is nothing worse than being sick somewhere other than home. When we drove home, I was still sick which was not pleasant. Hubby was prepared to pull over for me though and he was an amazing trooper the whole time I was sick. I’m still not 100% which is just crazy. I’m not sure what type of virus/flu/etc I came down with but I’m still dealing with a lot of weird side effects. I’m looking forward to feeling 100%!
Preparing for today’s grocery trip was fun since it feels like so long since we’ve gone grocery shopping with coupons. The sales are not outstanding. In fact, the deals I am most excited about are the Feta Cheese and Benadryl (we have to give that to our dog from time to time). I’m hoping next week the sales are even better!
How did you do this week?
Please remember that you do not see any chicken or ground beef purchased because we have stocked up on boneless, skinless chicken breasts and ground beef with Zaycon Foods. **Right now Zaycon Foods is taking reservations for their upcoming Salmon, Cod, Ham, Chicken Tenders and more Events! You also do not see much produce as we belong to a coop and every other week get a delivery of organic fruits and veggies.
