What a week! It was a busy week in our household. I ran the Iron Girl Half Marathon this past Sunday and so started the week a bit more achy and tired than usual. And then mentally – goodness – what a week. While blogging here on Monday morning, I watched the Boston Marathon live online. I love track & field and wanted to see who won and how Shalane Flanagan and Kara Goucher did. So I watched for about 2 and a half hours until the top male & finishers completed their marathons. I was also tracking one of my friends from high school as she was running Boston for the second time. In the afternoon, I left my computer for about an hour and when I returned, the bombing had just occurred. This bombing has rocked me as I know it has rocked all of the US. To know that just the day before I had crossed the finish line of a local half marathon (where my husband was cheering me on) and then within a little over 24 hours later to see such a horrific event at a race that I hope to someday run in. What a week.
Publix sales don’t stop for bad weeks though and there were some deals we wanted to take advantage of. I desperately need Extra Virgin Olive so we took advantage of the BOGO sale. And hubby was thrilled to be able to stock up on his favorite food – pizza. On Wednesday, I posted the picture below on Addicted to Saving’s Instagram page of my refrigerator. Last week, we had two days (Sunday after my half marathon and Monday) where I didn’t cook as “fresh and clean” as I usually do. Because of this, when we picked up our produce bin at our coop this Wednesday, I realized our fridge was literally overflowing with produce. Let’s just say that we are juicing A LOT and eating a lot of fresh produce right now! (Tomorrow I’m planning on making a huge pot of soup and using as many of my veggies as possible.)

I also would like to know more about the coop for produce! Thanks!
What coop do you use? I was looking at Tampa Bay organics. Have you heard of them? We live in New Port RIchey.
I got 2 Tidy Cat, 2 Skintimate Shave Cream, 2 Aunt Jemima Breakfasts,2 Quaker Chewy Bars, 2 cans Wolf Chili, 2 Duncan Hines Creations Frosting, 2 Duncan Hines Flavor Mix, 2 Knorr Pasta Sides, 1 Splenda and 1 Nivea Lip for $4.73 before taxes, saving $46.61 which is 90%.
Was wondering the same thing about Co-ops … would love to find one in my area. I live in Clearwater …. do you know of any??
I am doing Tampabay Organics…I love how they check their food and if they are not pleased with the size or amount they will not put it in our box and will sub it out. Also they are good with making changes, etc… If you do not have someone who referred you then I would appreciate if you would use my name Teresa Didriksen as a referall. I use to be coupon crazy and now my daughter has to go MSG free and what a change in our budget… THanks kindly…
