So this is now two weeks in a row where I haven’t posted an actual Photo Show & Tell. While I think that Publix has some awesome sales going on right now (body wash, pasta sauce, mayo), I just didn’t have the time this week to shop!
One of the things I haven’t broadcast much is for the past two weeks my hubby has been in Uganda, Africa working with men, widows and orphans as part of the Man Up Group. So while hubby was away, I was oftentimes swimming in work, deadlines and adoption stuff. From an adoption standpoint, this past Tuesday, we were told that I needed to book a ticket to meet my hubby in Ethiopia so that we can meet our 10 month old Baby T for the first time and attend court. SO, on top of all of the work I’ve been doing, I’ve also been planning an Africa trip all by myself. I was hoping that my hubby would be able to give me more guidance since he’s been to Africa twice now, but while in Uganda, he had limited to no internet access leaving me to plan and figure out this trip alone. We also have friends who are enjoying this hot and balmy weather house sitting for us while we are gone, so I had to make sure my house was tidy for when they arrived!
Nonetheless, tomorrow, I will be on my way to Ethiopia. I think I added up the travel time and I will be in the air around 17-18 hours split up over 3 different flights. Should be interesting… I’m a bit daunted to do this alone, but once I get to Ethiopia and past customs, a driver from my adoption agency should be there as should hubby. If they aren’t there, I may have a freak out moment… so you can pray they are prompt 😉 On Monday, hubby and I will meet Baby T for the first time and spend time with him twice a day every day next week. We will also have court. I’m not sure what to expect for our court session. The Ethiopian court was kind enough to give us an earlier court date that coincided with hubby’s Africa trip. So I don’t know if the court will have enough paperwork from our agency to “pass us” or if they will end up passing us at a later date. You can pray we pass this week though! Once we pass court, Ethiopia is basically saying that our child is legally ours by Ethiopia’s standards. That would be a major step for us in this adoption process. We don’t get to bring Baby T home even if we pass, but we are one step closer to bringing him home!
During this next week, I have a team of gals who are going to be posting on Addicted to Saving for me. They are awesome gals and I know they will take good care of you! I will also be checking in as long as we have internet access. I will be updating all of you on what I’m experiencing in Ethiopia! I’ve never been there before and thought it might be fun to take you along with me on the journey by blogging about it. And, I will keep you filled in on meeting Baby T for the first time. I can’t post a picture of him until we pass court. So that is another reason you all can pray extra hard that we pass 😉
Once I get back home, I will start up my Photo Show & Tell again. Post your photo brags to Addicted to Saving’s Facebook page. I’ll be watching them this next week and jealous of all of the deals you are taking advantage of!

I’ll be praying for you Liza. When you mentioned Uganda, my ears perked up. My 18 year old son is in Uganda for 6 months. He is serving with Potters Field Ministries, working with children there. Praying all goes well with Baby T. 🙂
