I had a quick Publix trip this week. I was in desperate need of milk so my priorities were the milk, eggs, broccoli and apples. Everything else I bought because of the awesome coupons I had. I really wanted to get the Magnum Ice Cream bars because I have the $1.00/1 Target coupon but my RP insert didn’t have the manufacturer’s coupon to go with it – instead my insert just had a one page ad for Magnum. Not cool. 🙁 I did forget to bring my $2.00/1 fresh produce Publix coupons so while I could have spent less money this week, I will save the money next week as I use the coupons then. I was a bit a lot disappointed to see that the shelves were wiped clean of a lot of the deals I wanted to do. But I have to remember that that is what I get for going grocery shopping after 5 pm on a Friday! **Oh and a funny side note – the lady in line behind me watched me use all of my coupons and proceeded to tell me that she doesn’t use coupons because she only buy organic food at Whole Foods. I look at her grocery cart and in it is 6 cartons of Breyer’s Ice Cream, 4 boxes of Duncan Hines cake mix and then some random odds and ends. Not quite organic is it? 😉
The items I purchased today coincide with this week’s Publix Weekly ad. To see this week’s ad & coupon matchups, go HERE.

I am always envious of your deals and consider moving to Florida every Friday when I see your photo. Don’t feel too bad about the magnum bars. I had such high hopes for them but when my store had a deal, I picked up a box and didn’t like them. I couldn’t even finish the bar. I am sticking with my favorite skinny cow ice cream sandwiches-less fat and more delish!
PS love the commentary from the lady in line
Katie says
I agree, I expected it to be better. I did finish mine, but it wasn’t as great as I’d hoped.. owell, the box only cost me .50! 🙂
Yasmin says
Thats really good!! I am still learning! I used the two dollar coupons on the raspberries and blackberry deal 3 for 6.00 but they are soooooo bitter…I might cook them down with a spoon of jelly and have it over vanilla ice cream..but they are soo tart!
I do thank you because I scored eight dial soaps my hubby was impressed!!

The publix I went to told me that they couldn’t accept the $2 off produce coupon bc it was counterfiet. They didn’t authorize the release of the coupon I was bummed.
kathy says
You should print out your email that had the link for the $2 produce coupon and show it to them the next time you are there. That’d sure frustrate me.
Jill says
Check the back of the frt. page of your RP for the Magnum Q…..there was also a full page ad.
Addicted to Saving says
Oh no are you serious Jill? I bet I missed it!! I will have to check and will report back to you. 🙂
seanbo says
I have 2 spare Magnum mfg coupons. Email me your address and i will mail them to you Minday and hope you get them Weds.

I love the lady behind you. I only buy organic. Well, Whole Foods puts out their own coupons. The first thing I thought when i heard that statement was What are you doing at publix? They are usually not the store to get organic from unless you are at a greenwise. There selection is limited in the regular stores.
Addicted to Saving says
I know! Wasn’t she funny? I talked to her a bit about online organic coupons but I could tell that she didn’t really want to hear what I had to say. haha. So, I minded my own business and instead noted exactly what she had in her cart. 😉
Jeff says
Just curious why you didn’t do the Smart Balance Milk, assorted, 2 for $5 and use the $1.50/1 making it $2 a gallon…..BTW ? ur site….
Addicted to Saving says
Hi Jeff! Great question! I didn’t get the $1.50/1 coupon in my insert so I couldn’t have gotten that deal.. I guess I could have used my two $1/1 coupons and gotten it for $3.00? Truthfully, because I didn’t have the $1.50/1 coupon this deal wasn’t on my radar! But it should have been because I could have saved a bit more money… :/
P Curry says
I saw that magnum ad in a bunch of the flyer and thought I was just losing it and maybe had thrown out the coupon, there probably was not a coupon.
Kelly says
Is that Breyers the Mint Oreo? That is my absolute favorite! Sooo good those new Blasts!
Alesha Oppatt says
I got the Magnum coupon. It didn’t look like a coupon at first. I went over it a couple of times before I realize it was at the bottom.
Laura says
If you didn’t get the coupon I could drop some in the mail for you. We live close you could have them by Monday.
kathryn wise says
they always give me a refund when I bring in a coupon I forgot to use. try it../..
Lisa says
My Dial body wash was 3.99 last week during the b1g1 deal. So, I didn’t make any money, but it helped get my total to $50 to use a $10 off coupon my sister gave me. She gets better Publix coupons in the mail than I do and didn’t need hers this week. Lucky me!
Nicole says
I had a great week also. I made $4 on the Bayer Aspirin, $5 for pull up and wipes together, and free Tylenol Precise.
Retail price was $83. I paid $14.
Kara says
I’m new to this and have scored some good deals thanks to your website. Question…how do you get the extra coupons like 8 on the dial soap?
Teresa says
Most people do it by buying extra newspapers every week (in multiples of two). You can also check coupon clipping websites where you can purchase multiples of a specific coupon (there are some listed in the “intro to couponing” section on this site) or ebay. If it’s an internet printable coupon, you can usually print two per computer so having access to two or more computers will help you there.
DJ says
You did great – we used one of our $2 off produce coupons this week, they refused to let us use both even if we split the order – said they required they be used on seperate “trips” 🙁
Our Publix also will not allow any overages – doesn’t matter what they are they won’t take a cent off…they just zero out the item 🙁
Joy says
I just wanted to say I am officially a month into couponing, your site being the first I signed up for daily emails and THANK YOU SO MUCH … also a Facebook fan, ( your 1saleaday.com poster lol) … we don’t have a Publix here 🙁 but I did have a fabulous shopping trip to Walmart:
Walmart – 6/18/11
Origional: $ 240.64
– $ 157.66 in price matches
– $ 60.28 in coupons
Final Cost: $ 23.26 including tax ($19.42 before tax)
($217.94 Savings) = 91% of my origional order
Purchased 48 items for $23.26 – or $0.48 ea!!!
So YAY!!! Great trip for my 1 mo anniversary to couponing 😀
Keila says
I just got involved in all this “couponing” and I love your site (it has been VERY helpful)!! I dont have job, so we have to save where we can 🙂
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
I’ve watched the “Extreme Couponing” program and I wonder what some of those people do with so much food??? Do they eventually end up throwing expired food away, I wonder??? I thought maybe one of those “extreme couponers” might have been to Publix before you got there and they “cleaned-out” the place 🙂 LOL!!
Hope you all have a great week!!!
Melissa says
I have to laugh about the organic lady, last time I checked Duncan Hines wasn’t considered organic.
My favorite time to shop Publix is when the first open on Saturday morning here in Tampa. They are stocking the shelves and if something is missing they happily run back and grab it for me. They are so nice here. That way I’m not clearing the shelves either.
This weekend was the first time anyone ever took their items off the belt behind me and moved to another lane. The cashier was new to coupons and he filed each individual coupon every time he scanned one into his little bag. It took a LONG time to check out this weekend. LOL.
Liz says
Using the B2G1 coupon on the Duncan Hines wouldn’t you be able to get 4 boxes instead of 3 per coupon?
(1) Buying -counts as 1
(2) FREE w/ bogo -counts as 2
(3) FREE w/ coupon because you “purchased” 2 ^^^
(4) FREE w/ bogo
Did I do that right, or am I a fruit loop? haha.
Addicted to Saving says
Hi Liz! You aren’t a fruit loop! =) You got it! If you buy 4 boxes, with the sale, you will pay for two boxes. But then when you use your B2G1 coupon, that will cover the cost of one box meaning you get four boxes for the price of one. If you have two B2G1 coupons, you will get a better deal – that is why I bought six boxes. But, if you only have one then your fruit loop scenario is perfect. 🙂
