CVS has unveiled a corporate coupon policy. This is a GOOD thing because now, when you go shopping, you can carry this with you in case there is a couponing issue. The policy is pretty cut and dry. To see and print the policy, go HERE. Below are some of the highlights of the policy.
• Competitor coupons are not accepted at CVS/pharmacy.
• The total value of the coupons may not exceed the value of the transaction. **in other words – no overage
• CVS/pharmacy will accept manufacturer coupons for an item that is on sale.
• CVS/pharmacy will not accept percent off coupons for sale and promotional items.
• CVS/pharmacy accepts one third-party manufacturer coupon and applicable CVS/pharmacy coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer. **in other words, we can stack one CVS coupon and one manufacturer coupon on one item 🙂
• The coupon amount will be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value). **this is an important policy rule to remember. With coupons, we should be able to get items of equal or lesser value for free but no overage.
• CVS/pharmacy accepts multiple identical coupons for multiple qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers, unless a limit is specified. Management reserves the right to limit the quantity of items purchased.CVS/pharmacy accepts valid internet/print at home coupons containing a barcode.
• CVS/pharmacy accepts valid internet/print at home coupons containing a barcode. **remember this rule as well.. My CVS stopped accepting internet coupons for a while. But per this official policy, we should be able to use all printable coupons as long as they are valid, legit and contain a barcode.

I went to CVS this week to buy the Skintimate Shaving Cream for $1.99 each. I was going to use the $1.00 store coupon and the $1.00 manuf coupon and be able to get the item for FREE. However, when the manager scanned my coupons, the computer told her I exceeded the limit of coupons. She then told me that CVS had changed their coupon rules and that you could no longer use a store and manuf coupon on one item. I thought maybe the problem was that the two coupons together = $2.00 and that since the item was only $1.99 that maybe they had to enter one of the coupon amounts as $.99. The manger then told me that due to people giving them fake coupons they were no longer allowed to enter coupon amounts. Has anyone else had this problem this week??? If so, were you able to end up getting it free??? I read over the new CVS coupon policy and saw that both things I was told are wrong.

I tried the same deal at CVS this week and I was told that they weren’t able to adjust the price of the coupon down to $0.99 from the original value of $1.00. I will definitely print this policy change out and bring it with me.

I was told at my CVS by 1 cashier last week, that you cannot use 2 coupons on a BOGO, because you are getting it free. Am I missing it , because I do not see that in the coupon policy, which I plan on taking with me today. Has anyone else had this problem?

Bad news if you shop for other households. My CVS stopped me after one transaction (of which was my smallest 🙂 ) and told me I couldn’t do anymore because of of the one cvs card per household. I told them they are for family members that can’t do the shopping, including my 74 yr old disabled mother in another county. They didn’t care. I even showed them a copy of my power of attorney with her address, they finally let me do one more transaction but that was it. I’ve now written to headquarters and told them they are forcing disabled people to risk their lives to go shopping now. Thanks for for your wonderful compassion-NOT.
