Below are the highlights of this week’s Publix ad which began Thursday or Wednesday (depending on where you live). I tried to post all of the Publix deals below that are priced at $1.00 or less. I am also posting a couple of higher priced deals that are note worthy. Remember that coupons are often regional so you may not find every coupon shown in the matchups below in your inserts.

Hi Liza, I ran into a strange coupon problem at Publix today and was hoping you might be able to shed some light. My Publix considers Winn Dixie a competitor and I use the $5 off $30 from Enjoy the City. Today I was told Publix is now only taking these coupons when the total AFTER all other coupons is $30 or more. I called Publix corporate office and they felt it was possibly a misinterpretation of the policy. The coupon policy posted on their website doesn’t show any change in how they are accepting this type of coupon. The store manager said it is how they are stopping coupon fraud and shelf clearers. Have you heard anything along these lines?

Tamara, that is very interesting indeed! I haven’t heard of that, and I agree with corporate – it sounds like it’s a misinterpretation of the policy. That said, each store has their own policy. Do you have another Publix you could go to? I will certainly keep my eyes and ears open for any “official” changes.

Liza – When I talked to corporate, they indicated that each store was required to follow the company coupon policy. The store discretion was for determining the validity of a coupon or limiting the quanity. If that is in fact true, then each store should not have a policy that contradicts the corporate coupon policy. Or, there should be a disclaimer stating that each store has the right to establish rules beyond the company policy. Doesn’t that make more sense than each store flying on their own?
