It has been a long week for us! Not necessarily a bad week – in fact, it was a great week. But it was long! If you read my post earlier this week HERE, you know that we have decided to adopt domestically. A gracious birth mom has chosen us to adopt her baby once she is born this August. So hubby and I have been trying to apply for adoption grants, starting to figure out how to fund-raise $29,000 by August and at the same time trying to guard our hearts as there are no guarantees. We are so thankful to be in this position to adopt a baby and yet at the same time, emotionally, we are drained. So all this to say, I didn’t want to go shopping this week. We have a wonderful stockpile consisting of frozen meats, whole grains in the pantry, frozen veggies and frozen cheese. And frankly, I don’t think that this week’s Publix sale is impressive. So the challenge I gave myself this week was to spend at least $25.00 so that we could use the $10.00 off $50.00 Lowe’s gift card Publix Yellow Advantage flyer coupon (the coupon expired 5/18/12). We are going to be putting new flooring in the babies’ nursery and I figured saving on a Lowe’s gift card would help us a little with the expenses of buying flooring 🙂
How did you do this week shopping? I hope you were able to spend less and save more than I did! Please leave a comment letting everyone know how you did!

I am so happy for you! God has blessed with you with a very special opportunity.
My husband and his 2 siblings are adopted, and were given the most wonderful parents a person could ever ask for!( I applaud the birth mother also for making the right decision.) BTW, great week! I’m sure you’ll raise the money in no time at that rate 🙂

Thank you all so much for your kind words and encouragement! The task of preparing for this child – emotionally, spiritually, and monetarily – seems daunting, but we are trusting that God knows what he’s up to! You all definitely have a part in the plan. 🙂
