Sometimes it can be a little frustrating when we go to Publix with our coupons and they are out of the items we need. Don’t fret! Publix is very helpful in giving rain checks for items out of stock. You don’t even have to get a different flavor of that item (i.e., if you wanted Eight O’Clock Coffee 100%Colombian flavor and all they have is Hazelnut). Just go to your customer service desk and if the sale is in the weekly ad, they will write you a rain check. If you are concerned that your coupon is going to expire soon, they will even attach the coupon and write “Okay to use expired coupon.” All Publix rain checks expire 30 days after written so keep them handy as you go back in to the store.
Also, please keep in mind that we don’t want to take advantage of their kindness especially with the expired coupon so don’t delay. Use that rain check sooner than later.

My store in GA tells their customers that their rainchecks have no expiration date. We’re lucky b/c some products (like the Prevacid) have taken longer than 30 days to come in.

I HAVE WORKED @ PUBLIX FOR 10 YEARS NOW, I AM PART OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF, I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ANY STORE THAT WON’T EXTEND THE DATE ON A RAINCHECK THAT IS CLOSE TO THE 30 DAY MARK IF WE HAVEN’T HAD THE PRODUCT. PUBLIX IS A GREAT PLACE TO WORK AND SHOP! :o)

I went to Publix tonight and I am just starting to get into clipping coupons to save money for my family. I had the worst experience with the cashier tonight. After diligently looking to make sure that I picked up all the correct items for the coupons I had, the cashier seemed like she was too tired to deal with it. 🙁 She scrutinized every coupon deal I had and questioned me as to whether or not I actually bought the right products. To top it off, I am on WIC because my husband lost his job and we have a newborn infant, and she questioned every single purchase there as well. We must have been in line for 15 minutes. I hope Publx won’t be like that every time I go back.

I Cathy! I am so sorry you had a difficult time at Publix. Don’t give up though. I think we have all had difficulties before. If you can next time, try to get in a line with a customer service staff, they are usually very aware of the coupon policies and very helpful. It will get easier so keep at it. I am sure you are doing great and congratulations on the baby!- (from Kara- the other video blogger)
