Happy October!! Can you believe Halloween is only 27 days away! Where is time going?!?
How did all of you do in September? Did you find you were spending less money and saving more money?!? September brought us some awesome deals didn’t it?
We had some awesome drugstore deals. My favorite were: FREE Oral-B rechargeable toothbrushes at CVS, FREE Tylenol Precise at CVS, FREE Thermacare Wraps at Walgreens and FREE St Ives Lotion and Carmex at Walgreens. What drug store deals were your favorite last month?
Publix continued to please me with some awesome deals! My favorite Publix deals during September were the free Ore-Ida Mashed Potatoes/Heinz Gravy scenario, free Kraft Homestyle Mac & Cheese, $0.45 MorningStar Veggie Burgers, $0.22 Bagel Bites, and the awesome free Ball Park Hot Dogs/Hot Dog Buns and Pepsi Soda scenario. What a great month we had with Publix. What deals were your favorite last month?
If you shop at other grocery or drug stores, what deals did you especially enjoy in September?
Looking at my totals below, I realize that this was a month where I didn’t get out shopping as much as normal. I’m having so much fun and spending so much time posting deals for all of you that I’m not taking advantage of all of them myself! Eeek! I’m hoping this month to start working on some more drugstore deals and rolling my RRs and ECBs each week. We’ll see how that goes! 🙂
September 2010 Spent: $56.71 Saved: $454.45 Percentage Saved: 88.9%
**Remember that we all have different needs. I have a HUGE stockpile so I focus only on dirt cheap items and produce. (I still have a ton of meat stored away in my freezer although I’m always looking for cheap chicken breasts). If you are a newer couponer, then you won’t have as much of a stockpile and you will have to buy more each week than I. So keep that in mind. How are your stockpiles doing? Are you reaching your spending goals? Would love to hear from all of you to find out where you are in your savings journey!

My favorite were the Thermacare moneymakers at Publix. I was able to print out quite a few via my coworkers and used the overage to purchase items that were hardly ever on sale. I am still waiting for the Oral-B toothbrush from CVS. They seem to go out the door as soon as they come in. Thank goodness the coupons don’t expire yet.

September was my first full month of trying couponing and I only did Publix and only used printable coupons – I saved about 68% off my grocery bill – not bad 🙂

WOW!! You saved 68% your first month!! Amazing! Great job DJ 🙂

My favorite deal this month was not one of receiving a bargain, but has been one of giving. A few months ago, I began sharing my coupon hobby with friends. In exchange for my time, they “pay” me with donations for two food pantry programs. I haven’t counted, but I am estimating we will donate $400+ of food this month. I can’t wait to deliver the food.

Angela – what you are doing has made my week. Honestly. The fact that you are blessing others with the knowledge you already know both by helping friends save money and donating to food pantries warms my heart. Thank you for paying it forward.

Thank you for all you do Liza!
My favorite deal was the free rechargeable toothbrush from CVS…I should say my husbands favorite deal beacause he got it! I was on vacation but still went to a CVS to get it, he had been wanting one for months but I wouldn’t pay that much for one. I am so glad I waited!!! I am now kicking myself for not getting the other one that was on the self for myself!
Yesterday I used my $13 ecb from the toothbrush at cvs for $71 worth and only paid $16 and got $21 in ecb back!! I love CVS deals:)

Went to CVS while out of town for the free toothbrush but not one in any store. Good for you that got them.
No on in my hometown had them either. (Friend texted me while she was hunting them.) But thank you so much for all the deals you post for us! We had a free product day in our Sunday School class a week ago. It was fun to put a different product in each chair and let them choose which one they wanted and sit in that chair. Also we collect feminine products for the mission, using our COUPONS, of course, and have great fun watching the freebies pile up for the ladies there.

oh, and I saved WAY more than I spent tho I don’t keep track of the spending, we saved more than $500 dollars just in coupons, this month! 😉
