So… How many of you received the lovely email from Staples yesterday saying, “We regret to inform you that item 593805, Marcal Bath Tissue, on the order number referenced above was unable to be shipped with your order. This item was part of a one-day deal on Saturday, 5/22/10 while supplies lasted and the offer is sold out.”
I just spoke with a manager and expressed my frustration. The manager explained that Staples doesn’t go through online orders until Monday. So, she stated that it wasn’t until Monday (yesterday) when Staples realized they had run out of stock of Marcel paper. She stated that they were not giving rain checks out and that there was nothing they would do to rectify the situation. This is a poor excuse to me. As an “office supply” store, you would think that their technology would be up-to-date enough that they could instantly know once they had sold out of an item. AND, I find her excuse poor because I know that some of you received messages on Saturday (as you tried to place your order) stating that the Marcel Tissue was out of stock!
I am so sorry I posted this deal on Saturday. I feel like I wasted your time (mine too)! I will keep my eyes peeled for toilet paper deals and will post them as soon as I find them.

It’s not your fault. I tried to order it, but it said something about the shipping address being unable to comply. I didn’t get that at all. I haven’t had a lot of luck in the past with Staples, mainly cuz we don’t have one close by. But thank you so much for all the wonderful postings, we so appreciate your time and effort. 🙂
and don’t stress about it. the toilet paper got mostly bad reviews anyways. 🙂
They called me today and let me know they were out. Next time I do a run down to Staples, I will get my $3.34 back. Can use that for $50.00 worth of groceries at Publix thanks to you!!
Frankly, I was kind of relieved – I had never used the toilet paper before and ordered the stuff before I saw all the posts about needing to use lotion after you use the toilet paper! hahahahaha

I was able to get the paper, very small rolls of paper…..would have been better off with angle soft
