You already know that I’m all about frugal living. I love going to the grocery store or drug store and saving more money than I spend. I love using coupons. And I love saving money. So when I learned that we can purchase Hallmark Cards for as little as $0.47 (yes 47 cents) at Walmart, I was shocked! Just because I’m frugal doesn’t mean that I had figured out how to save money on greeting cards. Until now!
I headed to Walmart since Walmart is the only place we can find $0.47 greeting cards. When I turned down the greeting card aisle, I saw the $0.47 greeting cards and also the $0.97 greeting cards.
When you are at Walmart next time, I highly recommend you check out the huge selection of cards you can choose from. I purchased a dozen cards. The stockpiler in me wanted to take advantage of this awesome price and also plan ahead for both forseen and unforeseen events in the future. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to the store and paid over $4 or $5 on just one card because I was rushing to head to a baby shower or a funeral or send a birthday card off in the mail. Now, I didn’t feel bad stocking up on lots of cards because I only spent $5.64 on a dozen cards! I usually spend around that much on just one!
The majority of the Hallmark greeting cards I purchased were birthday cards. We have a crazy amount of nieces and nephews and my goal is to have enough birthday cards to cover their next birthday. Above is a picture of one of my favorite birthday cards I purchased. It is gender neutral and even age neutral so I can use it on younger children or even older adults. The card stock is thick and durable just like the higher priced cards that I typically purchase!
Since I was stocking up on cards, I wanted to have them nicely organized to insure that I don’t lose them OR forget that I have them! While at Walmart, I purchased a plastic organizer with a lid for just $2.84! And, I purchased markers. I already had markers on my shopping list so I’m not factoring the cost of them into this purchase. At home, I had large blank notecards that I planned to use as dividers for my greeting card organizer.
I’m not the craftiest person that I know so I really loved this storage idea that I came up with. It didn’t entail any craftiness except from writing the greeting card category on the blank notecard. I did have to cut one of the notecards up width-wise so that I could add a little height to my category dividers. That I could handle!
Above is a picture of the finished product! This plastic container is the perfect size for storing greeting cards and I am so excited knowing that I have saved so much money by stocking up on Hallmark greeting cards!
Make sure you follow Hallmark on Twitter, Facebook or Pinterest!
Have you seen these cards yet? Will you be stocking up on Hallmark greeting cards priced as low as $0.47?

If you use Snap by Groupon, look for a $1 off 2 greeting cards offer. I used mine a while back so can’t check to see if it’s still available. You can use it multiple times, so I “bought” 20 of these cheap cards for nothing!!! Gotta love free cards! I’m all set for the next year!

47 cent cards?! That’s a steal! And I love that you were able to find an organization system for super cheap too. Time for a Walmart trip! #client
