Happy Friday!! I thought I would start the day with a video for all of you struggling to get through the end of the week! 🙂 This video aired last night on Nightline. It is really interesting to watch. I would LOVE feedback as to your thoughts. What did you think of Nathan aka “Mr. Coupon’s” stockpile? Did you relate more to Mr. Coupon or Jill aka “Coupon Queen” shopping techniques? Who do you think did better on their shopping ventures?
Super Couponers on last night’s Nightline!

Wow, I think Mr. Coupon needs to start giving some of that away!! It seems pretty greedy…but who knows, maybe he already does donate it.
Randy says
Mr. Coupon is what I am trying to eventually be like..
Elizabeth says
It bothers me that he has so much that he doesn’t need/use. By all means, get a good deal, but why not give the extra to charity?
Shelley says
Wow, They had different strategies, he surely got the best bargains, and I love to shop his way but I would be donating much of that I got free….I don’t have storage space for all of that.
Maria Foes says
I think that the lady shops really smart and I think that Mr. Coupon is gone crazy! HA! If he had sent a little message about donating your extras, he’d be a hero though 🙂

I like Mr. Coupon’s strategies, but absolutely hate to see all that sitting in his garage. There is no way he’s going to use all of that, and if he’s keeping it all, there’s a lot of stuff there that’s going to pass its expiration date before he ever gets down to it! Even if it’s free, if you never use it and have to throw it away, what’s the point? They didn’t mention either one donating or doing anything with their stockpiles, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. I do like Coupon Queen’s cart though, in that you could actually make some good balanced meals out of what she purchased.

Mr coupons is a freebie hoarder.I think he has a problem. What does he need those heart moniter things for?? Except that he made alittle money on them. So selfish. Disgusting.
Manja says
Thanks for sharing Liza. I certainly am inspired by Mr. Coupon and did prefer his shopping over the lady. However, I agree regarding donating as much as he has piled up.
Brandi says
Mr. Coupon was a bit too much, buying stuff you don’t need just to buy it. If too many people do that they are going to reduce the number of coupons offered, these companies do have to make money.

I’m more like Coupon Queen. I buy what I know my family will eat/use and if I make money with coupons a la Mr. Coupon, it’s a bonus, but I don’t stockpile things just because they’re free or are moneymakers. I’d leave those things for people who will need them.
I think Mr. Coupon is too extreme – especially to see the Jell-o on the driveway like that, who’s going to eat all that Jell-o? It is hoarding, no matter how ‘organized’ he is about it.
Tara says
Mr. Coupon did the best, however, why does he need to stock up for 3 years? I try to stock for maybe 3 months, which is usually when the next good sale on that item comes around. He needs to think about donating, I donate and I don’t have near the amount of stuff he has. That’s a true addiction or hoarder.
Faith says
Wow- that was a really interesting video. I can’t say who was the “better” shopper, as they both did extremely well. But I did learn some tips from watching. Thanks for posting it!
Zulie says
I would love to shop like Mr. Coupon but I would totally donate 80% if not more of it.
I have no use for 3,ooo Jell-O packs! lol
Jennifer says
That guy is hoarding and compulsive, not healthy
Trying to save says
He might be a hoarder, but a least he is organized and clean. If that releases his hoarding needs, so be it. I have a brother that is a hoarder, empty boxes, toys, games, office supplies (does not work in an office) etc. And it is all over the place. You have to step over it.
My sister tried to throw some stuff away and he knew it was gone (not sure how).

Mr. Coupon does donate his groceries to others. Check out his website…… weusecoupons.com

Does he have time for a real life? LOL I’d rather eat the stuff in the woman’s basket than all the Corn Pops he had in his cart. YUCK.
