Anyone else happy it is Friday? We got in early Tuesday morning from spending almost a week in St Louis and it took me a couple of days to recover on lost sleep. And then today was a busy day – I was used as a hair model for the celebrity hair stylist David Evangelista this morning on Daytime. I can’t say I love what he did to my hair, but he was a lot of fun and it was a new experience for me. (A motto I gave myself last year was to never close the door on random opportunities that present themselves to me.)
So, with the lack of energy this week and with the busy day I had today, I wasn’t excited about going shopping tonight. And truthfully, I probably wouldn’t have shopped if I didn’t have to do this Photo Show & Tell. Well, for my first shopping trip since before Christmas, this is/was a pretty bad one. The sales are decent but I just didn’t have enough coupons to really get good deals. And, while I posted a ton of hot coupons on January 1st and 2nd, I was working from my inlaw’s house in St Louis so I didn’t print ANY of the coupons I posted about. 🙁 Lesson learned. Had I printed the coupons from the 1st and 2nd, I would have gotten better deals today. I’m also swimming in fresh $1.69/lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts from the Zaycon Foods deal I posted about earlier this week. So, with my stockpile and tons of meat, I don’t need that much.
Today I was able to get some fresh produce. And, I got over $25.00 worth of groceries so I was able to save $10.00 on a gas card. I was pleased about that.
On the homefront, below is an updated picture of the newest addition to our family. Louie (short for Luigi) is almost 11 weeks old. He’s a lot of fun, beyond adorable and a lot of work. Our 7 year old dog (Pacey) is starting to become accustomed to the fact that Louie is in fact staying and while the two of them are not yet buddies, I see a promising future. 🙂 (We took the picture below while I made dinner tonight. He fell asleep on his stuffed animal. Too cute.)
