I was desperately in need of lettuce, onions, green peppers, tomatoes and salt today so those were my priorites when I did my weekly shopping trip. So, I went with a list of veggies I needed and then added in some of the great sales that are going on.

I spoke with management at my store and I am so happy to see that very very little is changing at my Publix. They will be reading the verbiage on the store coupons which they didn’t tend to do in the past, but besides that they are going to add two new grocery stores to their accepted competitor list which will only benefit me! So, I’m thrilled with the new coupon policy! 🙂 I forsee each store handling the policy differently so I highly recommend you ask customer service how the store will handle situations like duplicate store coupons, overage, dollar off coupons, etc etc. My store (as the coupon policy states) will accept one dollar off (i.e. $5/$30) Publix store coupon and one dollar off competitor coupon in one transaction. That said, you will have to purchase the total amount of the two coupons before using your other coupons. So, if you use two $5/$30, you will have to spend $60 before coupons. That isn’t a problem for me because I never used two dollar off coupons in one transaction! All in all, I think the new policy is wonderful because we have something in writing and while there are still many “gray areas,” at least we have a policy to bring to the store with us! **If you missed my post on the dissecting the Publix policy earlier this week, go HERE.

I took advantage of the Sominex deal and the John Frieda deal but I only did one deal since the Green Advantage flyer verbiage limits one coupon per customer. I did use multiple Vlasic Publix store coupons but that is because there were no limitations on them. The best part about today’s trip is that I spent $0.00 out of pocket since I was using the $25.00 Publix gift card given to me by My Blog Spark and General Mills. Below is the upcoming Publix weekly ad. The ads go back to normal in that they are now from Thursday – Wednesday or Wednesday – Tuesday depending on where you live. It is a shorter ad this week than the past couple of weeks but there are some great deals for sure! If you see any missing coupons, deals or typos, please let me know by leaving a comment on this post! As the days go on, I will update this ad. The ad below is a Tampa Bay ad scan.

******Seven Main Notes to my readers :
1) If you are new to saving money at Publix, read my Intro to Publix post.
2) From time to time the print limit will be reached on printable coupons. You will know the print limit has been reached if you go to print a coupon and you receive an error message or the message that you have already printed the coupon – even if you haven’t.
3) When Publix has a Buy One Get One Sale, in order for most Floridians to receive the second item free, we have to buy both items. Many other states only have to buy one item and they will get that one item for half (50%) off.
4) For Floridians, if we use coupons 50 cents or less, our coupons are not doubled. Most other states will double coupons as long as they are 50 cents or less.
5) Publix accepts competitor store coupons! HOWEVER, each Publix accepts different competitorsbased on the proximity of the competitor’s location. Ask your Publix who they consider as competitors! Also, some Publix locations will accept only one of each store coupon while others will accept multiple duplicate store coupons within the same transaction.

More TLC Extreme Couponing Tonight :)

I am really starting to enjoy Wednesdays! I really like watching reality television. I know that some of you may hate it while others may like it. Extreme Couponing is right up my alley – it talks about couponing, saving money and it is a train wreck. For me that is the perfect combination for an enjoyable night of reality television!

Did you watch Extreme Couponing last week? I have to say that my husband and I actually enjoyed watching Amy. Amy was the lady from Missouri (I think that is where she is from??)… What I really enjoyed about Amy is that she had multiple uses for all of the items she purchased. She seemed different from a lot of the other couponers showcased on Extreme Couponing. She seemed to coupon out of a necessity and while she bought numerous quantities of each item, she seemed to have a planned use for everything. Instead of just showcasing them in her stockpile like some of the Extreme Couponers seem to do.. Amy even showed how she saves money by gardening, canning her veggies every year, hunting for their meat, etc etc. I liked that about her. What did you think?? (Speaking of gardening, I will take a picture and post about the little garden my mom and I planted – it is THRIVING!! I’m still waiting for my husband to build me a sandbox garden so that I can plant a bit more!)

I’m going to do my best to watch Extreme Couponing live tonight. (The new episode airs at 9:30 pm EST.) That said, I’m battling strep so I may crash before then. But, if I’m up, I’ll go onto Addicted to Saving’s Facebook page so that we can chat about it while we watch it live! Last week quite a few of you chatted with me and some of you had me cracking up. If I had to sum up my Publix shopping trip today, it would be HELLO CHEESE! I’m armed and ready to make at least two lasagnas and at least one dish of stuffed shells. YUM. Publix has some great sales today and I was so excited to get mozzarella cheese, ricotta and to try out the new Kraft Mozzarella w/ Philly Shredded cheese. I spent a bit more than I desired and expected but I am pleased with 80.6% savings! I also giggled to myself as I put the two bottles of French’s mustard in my shopping cart because I was picturing myself not buying one bottle but 150 like the lady on Extreme Couponing. heehee. I also was able to do the Right Guard deodorant and body wash deal which made me extremely happy.
