My name is Liza and I began my money-saving journey in the Spring of 2009 as a way to stretch a limited household income. I had lost my job and my hubby was self-employed. I wish Bradenton wasn’t so far from Lakeland! We went to their pumpkin festival a few years ago. Long drive 🙁
Even if they run out of tomatoes…..which I highly doubt they will this early, but you never know….they have some awesome produce prices! If you want to stock up it might still be worth the drive. 🙂 They are very friendly by phone though and will answer all your questions! Bring lots of water to drink and maybe some sunscreen.
Thanks for the tip! We went today and there were still plenty of tomatoes. In fact, TONS of them. They need to be picked. They let you pick green ones, too. After you fill the bag or bucket you don’t have to bring them to the register. They will come to the car and see how many you have. They are very nice people!
Wow! Karen I am so jealous you got to take advantage of the sale today! My hope is that I can get down there next weekend! Now the big question is, what are you going to do with all of your tomatoes? 🙂
I really want to go and then I just looked up the directions 107 miles (1 hr 45 mins). Way too far 🙁
