My name is Liza and I began my money-saving journey in the Spring of 2009 as a way to stretch a limited household income. I had lost my job and my hubby was self-employed. Could not use our coupons at either store in Largo, Hammerheads and on Seminole Blvd. Could not use in the gift part of the store, could not use on Christmas items, nor on sale items. We walked out. Ace on Seminole Blvd. walk out of there too. Jerry “The Owner” said he wasnt accpepting the coupons. He doesnt take manufacturer. It was’nt a manufacturer ! Very unhappy with both stores.
Our Ace didn’t get in live Christmas trees and Lowe’s wouldn’t honor the coupon but I used the ace coupon & got a 5-6 ft noble for $15.88 from the home depot. They honored the coupon no problem.
I caught up on my sleep today but made a quick run at 5:30 to my local ACE. Took all of 10 minutes to locate and choose a nice little tool set for my newly adult (19yr old) son to keep in his car. $24.99 reg. for $13.xx with tax. Not bad…not bad at all!
I admit that I was eyeing some new hedge clippers though!!
Went to an Ace in one town and purchased a pillow pet for half price for my 3-year-old. Went to another Ace in another town and purchased a 5-hook coat hanger, some new flood light bulbs for our deck lights, and 2 boxes of nails. Used the 50% off coupon on the coat hanger (originally $29.99) and then used my FREE $25 American Express gift card so paid only $4.47 out of pocket for everything! I live in a small town to had to travel to find an Ace (one approx. 40 minutes away and the other approx. 1 hour 15 minutes away) but felt it was worth it! 🙂
