After your coupon fraud thread the other day, I am very scared to print coupons now. These coupons do not feature on the Beach-Nut website, nor on the SmartSource website. How can we be sure they are legit? Not that I don’t believe you do your checking!!! I am just curious how to check and why some coupons seem to be hidden.

Hi Vicky! I am so sorry you are now nervous to print coupons. First, breathe 🙂 Second, one of the best ways to know if coupons are legit is to determine what the source is. I realize that the links you clicked for the baby food printables were direct links. BUT, each link from this post gave you a limit of coupons to print right? In other words, you couldn’t print the coupons 10 times each right? Every time you receive a message that says “print limit reached” you can rest assured that those coupons are almost always legit. The manufacturers are limiting the amount of coupons we can print which means they are allowed coupons. If, however, you find a coupon that is on a PDF file, those coupons have no limits. Those are the coupons which are more suspect.
My basic rule of thumb is to be very wary of PDF files. I very seldom post coupons that are PDF files. However if a PDF file originates on a manufacturer website, I will sometimes (not often) but sometimes post the coupon. My other rule of thumb is if it seems too good to be true, it is. So, if you have a ridiculously high value coupon or a free coupon that is from online, it most often is not legit. Let me know your thoughts and if you have more questions 🙂
